

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education (Autonomous), Coimbatore, organised a National Symposium on “Transfiguration of the Indian Education System through Policy Initiatives” as part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebrations on 12thApril 2025 at Vidyalaya GKD Auditorium.
The event commenced with a prayer and lighting of the kuthuvilakku, followed by a welcome address by
Dr. S. Swaminathan, Librarian of the College of Education. Dr. V. Srinivasan, Principal of the College briefed about the theme of the symposium and read out the presidential message of Swami Garishthananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore. The Inaugural Address was presented by Prof. Dr. E. Balagurusamy, Honorary Advisor, Confederation of Indian Private Universities &Formerly Vice Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai.
The felicitation address was offered by Prof.Dr. C. Balaji, Institute Chair Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology – Madras. Dr. M. Jagadesh, Assistant Professor in Education proposed Vote of Thanks in the Inaugural Ceremony. The symposium featured insightful lecturesby distinguished resource persons: Prof.Dr.C.Balaji on “Transfiguring Teaching and Research in India using Policy Initiatives”; Prof.Dr. M.G. Sethuraman, Senior Professor & Dean, School of Sciences, Gandhigram Rural Institute (DU), on “Impact of Implementation of the National Education Policies”; and Prof.Dr. R. Vijaykumar, Formerly Regional Director and Deputy Secretary, NCTE, New Delhi, and Professor, School of Education, Pondicherry University, on “Transfiguration of Teacher Education in India.”250 participants, including principals, faculty members, academicians, research scholars and students from various colleges across India,actively took part in the symposium, making it a collaborative academic celebration.
The symposium concluded with aformal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Swaminathan, Organising Secretary and Librarian, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education, Coimbatore. The symposium provided deep insights into policy-driven transformations in Indian education and highlighted the path ahead for educators and institutions.
