Award Ceremony: 12th March 2025
Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education (Autonomous), Coimbatore, organised the Inter Vidyalaya Science Olympiad (IVSO 2025 – Online Test) on 04th March 2025. This special event was conducted as part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the College of Education and to commemorate the National Science Day in honour of Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman. The Olympiad presented students with stimulating scientific problems designed to evaluate their critical thinking, analytical reasoning and the practical application of scientific concepts.

Participation
The Science Olympiad witnessed enthusiastic participation from 303 students of Class VIII from the Vidyalaya schools. The participating schools included: Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Swami Shivananda Higher Secondary School (Boys and Girls Wing), Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya High School and Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya T.A.T Kalanilayam Middle School.

Examination Details
The online test was held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on 04th March 2025 across multiple venues, including two STEM labs, four Computer Labs in the Schools, SRMV Polytechnic College and SRMV College of Arts and Science (Self Finance Wing).

Award Ceremony
The Award Ceremony for the Science Olympiad was held on 12th March 2025, from 02.00 p.m to 03.30 p.m, in the presence of Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore.

Event Highlights
The ceremony began with a soulful prayer song rendered by Sri J. Aravindakshan, Music Teacher, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya. Dr. V. Srinivasan, Principal of the College of Education, welcomed the gathering and emphasised the significance of the event. A special address was delivered by Dr. N. Periasamy, Headmaster, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Swami Shivananda Higher Secondary School, highlighting the contributions of Sir C.V. Raman and the role of Science in daily life.

Swami Garishthananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, distributed prizes and cash awards to students who demonstrated exceptional performance in the test.
Dr.R.Ayyappan, Assistant Professor in Physical Science and the Programme Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants and organizers for making the event successful.

Following the award ceremony, a special orientation session was conducted by Sri N. Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Professor in Biological Science and the Programme Coordinator. During this session, he explained answers to the questions and problems in the online test. This session provided valuable insights into the effective strategies for tackling scientific challenges and encouraged students to adopt an inquiry-based approach to learning.

The Inter Vidyalaya Science Olympiad (IVSO -2025) was a resounding success, bringing together young minds to celebrate the spirit of scientific inquiry. The event not only honoured the legacy of Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman but also laid the foundation for nurturing future scientists and innovators.
