Warm Greetings,

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education (Autonomous), the oldest among the Educational Complex of Higher Education Institutions run by Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, has the rich legacy of producing committed and skilful teachers serving the society in the field of Teacher Education and School Education. With more than seven decades of relentless service, the College stood as the beacon of wisdom to mould under-developed sections of trainees into responsible teachers in general.

Ours is one of the oldest and earliest Colleges to offer Research Programme in the field of Teacher Education and a Research Journal credited to Educational Research and Extension of great repute since 1964. The College with affiliation to University of Madras, Bharathiar University earlier and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University at present, produced a band of dedicated teacher educators and teachers in schools over the period. Pioneering in the field of Special Education, the College paves way by contributing to Inclusive Education to produce faculty with service mind and great skill.

The methods of current trends using techno-pedagogy and imbibing values from our culture and heritage mark the qualities of teachers. Various celebrations and activities organised by the College threw light on the latent talents of every trainee that are nurtured, and facilitate them develop into not only equipped teachers but also skilful persons capable of managing different resources around them. The Faculty members continue to discharge their duties with passion and dedication while the Non–teaching staff offer their best for complementary services.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded the college with prestigious A+ Grade during 2006 and A++ during 2014. We have submitted the Self Study Report (SSR) for third cycle NAAC recently. I deem it a pleasure to thank the Management of the College, well-wishers, Faculty, Alumni, Research Scholars and student- teachers for their commendable contributions towards achieving the Mission of the College.
