
ORIENTATION ON CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN SCHOOLS
The Department organized an Orientation Programme on Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities in Schools on 21 July 2026 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. for B.Ed. students. The session was conducted by Sri V. Eswaran, Assistant Professor in Mathematics, who highlighted the significance of integrating co-curricular and extra-curricular activities into school education for the holistic development of learners.
The resource person emphasized the role of sports, arts, music, literary activities, clubs, innovation, life skills, and value-based programmes in fostering creativity, leadership, communication, teamwork, and character building. The programme provided prospective teachers with practical insights into planning, organizing, and effectively implementing school activities aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The orientation enriched the professional competencies of the student teachers and reinforced the importance of creating vibrant learning environments that nurture talents beyond academics.
