The Learning Leaders Circle Programme was organised for the First Year B.Ed. Student-Teachers, providing a reflective platform to explore the evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence and the teaching profession. The programme featured two thought-provoking presentations that examined the complementary strengths of AI technology and human teachers.
“What Can AI Teach That a Teacher Cannot?”
The presentation explored the potential of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing teaching and learning through personalised learning, intelligent support, rapid access to information, and expanded opportunities for knowledge acquisition.
“What Can a Teacher Teach That AI Cannot?”
The presentation highlighted the uniquely human dimensions of teaching, including empathy, emotional connection, moral values, inspiration, mentorship, and the ability to nurture the holistic development of learners.
The presentations encouraged meaningful discussions on the evolving relationship between Artificial Intelligence and the teaching profession. The interaction emphasised that technology can effectively support and enrich education, while human teachers continue to play an irreplaceable role in shaping learners' character, values, emotional well-being, and holistic development.
