Students Grievance Redressal
STRUCTURE OF GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE
The Grievance Redressal Committee consists of a Chairman, Coordinator and members. The committee addresses grievances in consultation with the management and the faculty members. To facilitate grievances filing, a ‘Suggestion Box’ is installed on campus. Additionally, the provision for online submission is available in the college website.
OBJECTIVES
- To create a platform where teacher trainees can express their grievances, regarding academic and non-academic issues including sexual harassment and ragging cases.
- To develop a responsive and accountable attitude among the stakeholders and thereby maintaining a harmonious atmosphere in the College campus.
- To get suggestions from the teacher trainees for further development.
- To ensure that the views of each grievance is respected and a way to redress the same will be identified.
LODGING OF COMPLAINT
- The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing and drop it in the ‘Suggestion box’ placed in the College.
- The Grievance Cell will act on complaints submitted with necessary documents.
- The Grievance Cell will ensure that each issue is resolved within a reasonable timeframe.
MECHANISM FOR REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES
A Grievance Redressal Committee has been established in the College of Education. The role and functions of the Grievance Redressal Committee are explained to the students during the Deeksharambh (Student Induction Programme).
- Students may address their complaints including sexual harassment and ragging to the Principal either directly or by making use of the suggestion box placed in the college or through online grievances redressal link available in the college website.
- Serious issues are discussed during staff meetings and other issues are resolved through planned interventions.
- Regular feedbacks from students on academic and other related activities are collected to take appropriated measures for quality improvement.
MECHANISM FOR REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCES IN EXAMINATION SYSTEM
- The college has well-defined mechanism for handling examination related grievances. All grievances related to evaluation are promptly addressed by the examination committee as per the college regulations.
- Students have the right to appeal in case they are not satisfied with the marks given in the continuous internal assessment test. They can seek clarification from the course teacher concerned. If not satisfied, they may appeal to the Principal. The Grievance Cell will then examine and ensure a fair resolution.
- In cases of grievances pertaining to any semester examination, there is a provision for retotaling, revaluation and personal verification of the photocopy of the answer script as per the college norms. The grievance cell looks into the complaints about valuation seriously and takes appropriate measures to redress them.
