Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.)
The B.Ed. course was started in the year 1950. From 2015 onwards, the one year B.Ed., programme of the college has been restructured as a two year programme consisting of four semesters as per the norms of NCTE and TNTEU.
The programme comprises of three broad curricular areas
1. Perspectives in Education: This theory part (12 papers) consists of core course (11 papers) and one Elective course (select any one from six).
2. Curricular and Pedagogic Studies: The course is designed to enable the students to specialize in their school subjects (Optional 1 and Optional 2).
3. Engagement with field – this includes school internship, tasks and assignments and course on Enhancing Professional Capacities.
Optional I Papers offered in the B.Ed. Course are: Commerce, Computer Science and General English.
Optional II Papers offered in the B.Ed. Course are: Biological Science (Botany and Zoology), Commerce , History, Mathematics, Physical Science (Physics and Chemistry) and Special English.
