Student Induction Programme for B.Ed. Students
Introduction
DEEKSHARAMBH – Student Induction Programme was conducted for students admitted to the B.Ed. Programme during the Academic Year 2026–2027. In accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the programme was organised for ten days from 27.08.2026 to 12.09.2026.
Purpose of the Programme
The transition from university or college life to professional education as prospective teachers is an important phase in a student's life. Students entering teacher education come from diverse backgrounds and encounter a new academic and institutional environment. DEEKSHARAMBH was designed to facilitate their smooth transition and provide a welcoming beginning to their B.Ed. journey.
The programme introduced students to institutional policies, academic processes, practices, culture, values and expectations. They were familiarised with the B.Ed. curriculum, academic resources, facilities and student-support services. Mentor groups were also formed to provide continuous academic and personal guidance.
Programme Activities
Various activities were organised to promote interaction and bonding among students and faculty, teamwork, communication, creativity and collaborative learning. Students were also sensitised to human values, professional ethics, social responsibility, constitutional values and issues of social relevance.
The programme encouraged students to understand the responsibilities of teachers and develop a positive attitude towards professional learning and lifelong development.
