75th Constitution Day 2024
Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education (Autonomous), Coimbatore – 641020 marked the 75th Constitution Day with great enthusiasm and a spirit of patriotism on 26th November 2024. The event saw the active participation of student-teachers in various activities that highlighted the core values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. The celebration was aimed at fostering an understanding of constitutional principles and promoting creative expression among students. The following activities formed the essence of the event:
1. Pledge Taking – Preamble of the Constitution
The event began with a solemn pledge-taking ceremony where the student-teachers collectively recited the Preamble of the Constitution. This activity reinforced the fundamental values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. The pledge reminded everyone of their duties and responsibilities as citizens of India, setting a tone of commitment to constitutional ideals.
2. Elocution
A dynamic elocution competition followed, allowing student-teachers to express their views on the Constitution’s significance and its role in shaping India as a sovereign, secular, and democratic republic. Participants displayed eloquence and deep insights into various aspects of the Constitution, such as fundamental rights, duties, and the role of citizens in upholding democratic values.
3. Essay Writing
An essay-writing contest was organized, providing a platform for the participants to articulate their understanding of constitutional principles. Topics ranged from the historical significance of the Constitution to its relevance in contemporary times. The essays showcased thoughtful reflections, critical analysis, and the student-teachers’ aspirations for a progressive India.
4. Verse Writing
Creativity took center stage during the verse-writing competition, where students penned poems inspired by the themes of democracy, justice, and national unity. The verses were a blend of artistic expression and patriotic fervor, emphasizing the inspirational spirit of the Constitution.
5. Poster and Craft Making
A visually engaging poster and craft-making competition was held to stimulate the artistic talents of the student-teachers. Participants designed thought-provoking posters and crafted creative models that highlighted key elements of the Constitution, such as the Preamble, the fundamental rights, and symbols of unity in diversity. These artworks effectively conveyed powerful messages about constitutional values.
The celebration concluded with a message from the faculty, emphasizing the importance of internalizing and practicing the values of the Constitution in everyday life. The active engagement of the student-teachers in these diverse events reflected their dedication to learning and spreading awareness about the Constitution’s enduring legacy.
