Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration – Online
On October 1, 2024, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education organized an inspiring online celebration to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The event took place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and was attended by faculty, students, and invited guests, honoring the legacy and relevance of Gandhian principles in the modern world.

Welcome Address
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by S. Praveen, who set the tone for the celebration by emphasizing the enduring significance of Mahatma Gandhi’s values of non-violence and truth in today’s society.
Keynote Address by the Chief Guest
The keynote speaker, Sri G. Haribaskar, Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Lekshmipuram College of Arts and Science, Neyyoor, delivered an insightful talk on the topic “Relevance of Gandhian Principles in the Modern World.”
- Sri Haribaskar eloquently discussed how Gandhi’s philosophies of non-violence (Ahimsa) and truth (Satya) continue to provide guidance for resolving conflicts and promoting social justice in contemporary times.
- He also touched upon Gandhi’s vision for education, rural development, and self-reliance, and how these ideals can still influence modern society and governance. The address was both thought-provoking and motivational, leaving the audience with a renewed appreciation for Gandhi’s teachings.
Vote of Thanks
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by C. Harish, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, faculty members, and all participants for their contributions and engagement in making the event a success.
