
Innovative School – Visit Vidya Vikasini Opportunity School – 22.02.2024
The purpose of the school visit to Vidya Vikasini Opportunity School was to provide second-year student teachers with a firsthand experience of innovative teaching methodologies and to expose them to the diverse range of special children studying in the school. All second-year student teachers participated in the school visit under the guidance of Principal i/c Dr. Srinivasan, Dr. K. Rajamanickam, Assistant Professor in IEVH and Extension Coordinator Dr. N. N. Prapakaran. The visit aimed to broaden the understanding of student teachers by exposing them to the unique challenges and teaching methods employed in special education. The team was led by experienced educators, ensuring a structured and insightful exploration of Vidya Vikasini Opportunity School. Dr. K. Rajamanickam. explained the significance of innovative school visits. Extension Coordinator Dr. N. N. Prapakaran highlighted the importance of the visit in enhancing the teaching skills of student teachers
Student teachers had the opportunity to observe and interact with children from various special needs categories. The visit facilitated a better understanding of the diverse learning abilities and challenges faced by special children. Special teachers demonstrated their teaching methodologies tailored to cater to the specific needs of each child. Student teachers gained insights into adaptive teaching techniques and tools used in special education. Question and answer sessions were conducted, allowing student teachers to clarify doubts and seek additional information. Special educators shared their experiences and challenges, fostering a meaningful exchange of ideas. The visit exposed student teachers to the diverse range of special needs students, broadening their perspectives on inclusive education.
